  • The published paper made no claim that the finding was correct. The paper in essence asked for help from the scientific community in finding where the flaw was. Absolutely no need for him to step down. This is so typically of administrative political behavior.

  • We saw cougar footprints on a deer trail in the mountains of western Massachusetts while backpacking. It is surprising how wilderness like it can be. We saw not a soul in two days of hiking.

  • These materials can be handled safely. Nuclear reactors may be the only way out of our energy and carbon problems. It's sad that this hysteria about radioactive materials has been built up by various groups.

  • I have nothing against responsible target practice. However, in national forests and BLM land you often see a lot of abuse. I was in a national forest recently and passed a makeshift target area. There was trash all over the place, broken bottles, shells all over the place and bullet ridden trees.

  • Years ago "US Airways" was named "Allegheny Airlines" (they operated out of Pennsylvania). People complained about them all the time and called them "Agony Airlines". When they changed the name to "US Airways", people started calling it "UnScheduled Airways".
